Football season is in full swing and with that brings the most anticipated post season event of the football season in Northeastern Oklahoma, "The 2017 Sooner Classic Football Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma!"

Again, we're looking forward to a well attended event from not only the Tulsa Metro Area, but from several surrounding states as well.

And as always, the UYFA supports good sportsmanship, attitudes and strives to introduce and provide the best possible teaching of the game of football. With a belief that through competition and the camaraderie of being a “team” member, the individual players can achieve almost anything. We Support Each and Every One of the Teams and Coaches Participating.

Again, this year we are expanding our tournament to give more teams the ability to succeed at their level.  Teams in grades 3rd- 7th will becoming to the Tulsa area to compete in our Sooner Classic. We will have two divisions.  The Elite division and the Open division.  For 2017 we are asking you to consider the definition of each division and choose which tournament you feel is the best suited to challenge your players. If you won the Sooner Classic in 2014 your team will automatically be placed in our Elite division as well as all travel teams will be placed in the Elite division.  Final placement will be at the discretion of the tournament director. We will need a minimum of 4 teams in each division to keep them separate, otherwise we will combine that age group.

Elite- This division is for teams that are excelling in their home towns. Teams that are on the brink of greatness and need to face the most competitive levels to push their team to the next level.  The championship game will be vying for a Sooner Classic ring. There is no additional gate fees.

Elite Championship Rings

Elite Runner-Up Rings

Championship MVP Trophy - There will be one MVP chosen per championship game in the Elite Division per age bracket.

Open- This division is for league teams that are possibly first or second year teams.  Teams that are up for a challenge of a tournament to continue to advance their game. These games may be played on grass fields and the championship game will be played on turf. We are only taking the first 6 teams in the Open division.  The championship game will be vying for player trophies. There is no additional gate fees.

Each team will be evaluated by the Sooner Classic Placement Board to ensure that each team is placed in the proper division.

We have heard over the years that our Sooner Classic draws some of the best teams from all over Oklahoma and the surrounding states.  We chose to expand with the hope of encouraging local teams and those that are still building their strong foundation a place to come and compete.

Thank you for making the choice to be a part of our tournament. We wish you much success!
